#1 Enter the airplane politely and on time. Equally important is the security check, which could be easily passed through when one is there in time.
#2 Hand luggage. Probably the most complicated question of them all, thorough answers open up here … Usually as a rule they are placed in the luggage rack and in a way, that the content of it won’t move and obstruct other passengers or in the luggage racks locking system.
#3 Seat: the dilemma of elbow and armrest. Almost always emerges a question – whose armrest is it? Well, if you’re sitting in the middle, then logic says that – both window and aisle seat already have one armrest. Therefore middle seat should get both inner armrests. Actually this is agreement position – but it could happen that you’ll end up with no armrest what so ever.
#4 Conversation with your neighbor could be eye-opening and interesting, but it could also be tiring and dreadful: one way or another you’re not required to do it. If you don’t wish to converse, you should mention it at the beginning in a calm and polite tone. There is also a special moment, that one should know – various usually very talkative and communicative people prefer to fly in silence. Reason being that they don’t tolerate flying all that well. Additionally: if you plan on sleeping through the flight, it is polite to notify your neighbor that it’s okay to wake you up if they need to go the toilet. Similarly it’s polite to ask the person sitting in front of you to lift up their seat. It’s not very comfortable, but even more so you should ask it in a friendly manner. Oh and: if someone is using their hands to knock on the back of your seat, turn around and ask them to stop politely. It could happen that you need to do it multiple times – because children forget easily.
#5 Mobile phones and other electronic devices. Silence is equally courtesy and safety, or visa versa. There’s nothing more foolish than to argue with a stewardess – if a phone (or any other network device) should be turned off. Please note- during flight one could use mobile phones etc with certain restrictions. It is also important to note that it is prohibited during takeoff and landing, reason being that it may disturb the airplane navigation system. …..
#6 WC. It is simple, but only in theory : don’t spend too much time and don’t disturb others? Most likely there are other people, who also have the same purpose and they also deserve a clean toilet.
#7 Bare in mind, that everybody wishes to exit the airplane as eagerly as you do. Don’t force yourself into the aisle if there is no room, also let those who are in front of you leave. Conjointly this gives you the time reserve to make sure that you haven’t forgotten anything in the airplane.
